About this book

Meditations on Various Aspects of the Spiritual Life
Sadhu Sundar Singh (1889 – disappeared 1929)

First published in 1926 by Macmillan and Co., Limited of London, this short book gathers twelve meditations in which the Indian evangelist Sadhu Sundar Singh reflects on prayer and solitude, the soul’s hunger for God, whether God can be known, pain and suffering, opposition and criticism, the nature of evil, life in Christ, the return of all men to God, morality and beauty, the Kingdom of God, and service and sacrifice — illustrated throughout with parables and images drawn from his years of travel across India, Tibet, and the Himalayas. Sundar Singh translated the book himself from his original Urdu, with help from the Rev. T. E. Riddle.

This Web Book presents the complete public-domain 1926 first edition: the Foreword, the author’s Preface, and all twelve chapters.
