If you or I were to call things that do not exist as if "there were", we would be lying. God can do it because He is God and His decrees carry the full weight of divine sovereignty. He spoke and the world was created: "What is seen was made from what is not seen" (Heb. 11:3). He spoke of things that were not and behold, these were created. You can call to existence to persons, places, and events solely by the work of their decrees divinely sovereign; can declare sinners righteous, even though they do not sean, if they believe. That is the justification.
But justification never occurs alone in God's plan, it always goes accompanied by sanctification. God does not declare sinners as legally just without making them just in practice. The justification is not legal fiction, that is why when God declares a person just, it is inevitable that he opens so that this comes to fruition: "Those whom he justified, these also glorified" (Rom. 8:30). When justification occurs, it begins the process of sanctification, and grace always encompasses both.
As we will see in chapter 7, Paul clearly taught both truths. It did not end with a discussion about the justification, and forgot the issue. of sanctification. The salvation described in his epistle to the church Romania was not a one-sided and merely forensic settlement. although the forensic element (the justification) was undoubtedly the support point about which Paul based the entire Christian experience.
