UECF
History
|
Author of 1st 5 years: Mr. D. Alfred Bhaskar, one of the founders and the First President.
The Motivation:
In January 1997, a group of people felt that the churches, which they
attend, do not meet their needs adequately. Some of their major concerns
and needs were as follows:
1) A lay fellowship that
is above the denominational sect but acceptable to all denominations.
2) A congregation serving
all communities without language barriers.
3) To cater for a Sunday
weekly worship service that would fulfill the spiritual needs of lay
Christians in the Central Jersey region.
4) Assist in the study of
the scripture among the adults and young kids.
5) Maintain the Christian
traditions of the Indian sub-continent.
6) Bring people from this
region closer so that their combined resources could be pooled to meet the
Christian needs of out reach Ministries serving in the South Asian region.
7) Serve the local
community.
|
Initiative:
Initially, the key people in this group were Mr. Alfred Bhaskar, Mr.
Vijay Pulipati and Mr Reggie Rao. Later, they were joined by
Mr. Ebenezer Mallepalle and Mr. Micheal Rose. After putting their
burden in prayer for about three months, they believed that it is God’s
will to start a new congregation with goals and objectives as listed
above. They pledged to fund the start of the new Christian Congregation
and sought the support of Rev. Dr. David Ravinder to serve as an honorary
Sr. pastor and provide the spiritual leadership. With his assent, a formal
decision was arrived to start a new fellowship. Dr. David Ravinder helped
in getting a place for our Sunday evening worship service at the sanctuary
of the United Methodist Church, located at 301, Chestnut Street, Roselle
Park, New Jersey 07204. |
Mr. Alfred Bhaskar, Mr. Vijay Pulipati, Mr. Reggie Rao and Mr.
Ebenezer Mallepalle became the incorporators as they initiated the
incorporation of the UECF body that started its first service on the first
Sunday of the Month of April 1997. The first General Body meeting was held
on June 4, 1997. All the local Christians were invited for this meeting.
The attendance was 34 according to the list of signatories for the
meeting. A draft Constitution prepared by Mr. Alfred Bhaskar along with
the by-laws was presented for the approval of this General Body, and the
same was approved. Also, the name United Christian Evangelical Fellowship
with abbreviation UECF was approved. A Board of Trustees consisting of
eight members was elected with the following Office bearers:
President: Mr. Alfred Bhaskar
Secretary: Mr. Reggie Rao
Treasurer: Mr. Ebenezer
Mallepalle
Members: Mr. Ajit Lakra,
Mr.Michael Rose, Mrs. Udaya Pulipati and Mr. Joel Dadepogu.
Rev. Dr. David Ravinder was nominated by the general body to be the Sr.
Pastor cum Spiritual Advisor, and ex-officio member of the board.
Goals and Objectives: The main goal of this fellowship is to provide spiritual and cultural fellowship for Indian Christians settled in the U.S.A. These goals are met through the following activities:
1) Conduct weekly worship
service on Sundays with preaching of the word of God, glorify and praise
His name; and exhort all believers to lead their lives following the
teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the son of God.
2) Host fellowship hours
after each service, to bring cohesion among the members.
3) Conduct Sunday School
for children and Bible study for adults.
4) Organize and run
special fellowship activities for youth and women.
5) Conduct other services
on special occasions such as religious festivals, marriages, birth days,
baptisms, anniversaries and funerals.
6) Promote cultural
activities for the community, such as - imparting education in Indian
languages, Indian music.
7) Assist in the spread
of the gospel in India and other countries in coordination with other
groups.
8) Organize and promote
community service in the local Central New Jersey area, and in region in
India that are in need of support due to calamities such as floods,
famine, fire and epidemics.
9) Participate in
activities of similar congregations.
Incorporation: A formal application was submitted on April 1, 97 to the Dept. of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service for recognition of the UECF as an employer. The same was sanctioned vide IRS Notice No. CP 575 L dated 08-15-1997. The official name and address was approved as follows:
United Evangelical Christian Fellowship, Address c/o Alfred D.
Bhaskar, 23 Ross Ct, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. (The Presidents address was given as there was no office for the Fellowship).
After getting the
EIN, an application was filed on September 6, 1997 for State recognition and certification of Incorporation as a Nonprofit Organization along with other applications for Sales Tax Exemption. The Constitution, By-laws, and statement of funds and balances were enclosed as required. Necessary modifications were incorporated in the Constitution and by-laws as desired by the State of New Jersey to the State of New Jersey for incorporation of UECF for exempt organization status as a Church Fellowship under federal IRS Code Section 501 © (3). Dispensation from IRS from payment of annual federal Tax was also obtained under federal tax code Section 509 a (1). Some major provisions of the tax code are as follows:
Contribution deductions from tax are allowed to donors as provided in Section 170 of the code.
Fund raising events may or may not qualify as deductible
contribution depending on circumstances.
Note: The Board of Trustees, and specially the President, and Treasurer are expected to be conversant to the provisions under tax laws. The president received immense support in filing the papers and following correspondence and replies to queries from the State and IRS, from Mr. Christopher Arun Kumar, a Chartered public Accountant and friend of UECF who provided free service and expert advise and support. With his help, we were able to achieve these results without paying hefty fees to attorneys. The president in the first annual General Body Meeting moved a resolution recognizing the service and thanking Mr. Arun Kumar.
The UECF opened its account in Sovereign Bank. The checks are to be signed by the Treasurer and one member of the executive committee according to the resolution incorporated while opening the account.

1st 2 Years Review
|
The UECF was able to get its first pastor Rev Praveen Bunyan
(associate Pastor) to serve as the regular preacher during
worship services on three Sundays a week with the Sr. Pastor,
Rev Ravinder taking charge of the fourth Sunday which was
designated as Communion Sunday.
The
first Annual General Body meeting was held in July 1998.
The first Anniversary of UECF was celebrated with a two
day Revival meeting. Mr.
Ebenezer Mallepalle sponsored the guest speaker for the
revival meeting, Mr. Akbar Haq.
All local churches and UTCF, NewYork participated in
the meetings.
During
the year Rev Praveen Bunyan left the UECF and relocated to
Denver as a Pastor of a major congregation in that region.
Rev Sunil Balasundaram who came from India to join the
seminary for doctoral studies filled the vacancy.
Rev. Balasundaram was assigned charge of the first and
second Sunday worship services.
The third Sunday was reserved for other pastors and
guest speakers. Among
the guest speakers, Rev. Milind Sojwal, Rev. Joseph Thomas,
Rev. Solomon Tiwade, Rev. Charles
Mark, Christopher Salina, John Bhajjan and Prince Singh
supported the congregation bringing their blessings and
inspiring messages to the UECF congregation.
Several distinguished Ministers from India, like Bro.
Shanthavardhan and Bro.
Joshi to
name a few, also graced our Sunday worship services with their
powerful messages.
The
UECF celebrated a Musical Concert. Outside churches also
participated in the Concert.
The Thanks-giving was celebrated colorfully with an
auction that was enjoyed.
Christmas and Carol rounds were celebrated.
The thanksgiving auction and Christmas carols helped by
giving some much needed funds to the UECF as we were leading a
tight budget with revenues barely above expenditure.
A home Bible Study program which was being conducted at
the home of Mr.Alfred Bhaskar as a private initiative started
(in 1996) before the UECF came into existence, was adopted by
the UECF as an activity and was conducted on a monthly basis.
Lenten cottage Prayer meetings during Lenten service were also
initiated and conducted during every Friday throughout the
entire Lenten season. The
membership was growing but attrition too was taking its toll.

A second
annual General Body meeting was held in August 1999.
The President Mr. Alfred Bhaskar and Secretary Mr.
Mr. Reggie Rao submitted their voluntary resignations from
the executive Committee for personal reasons.
Mr. Reggie Rao proposed Mr. Kanthi Paul Rapaka
as his successor. The
general Body unanimously approved the proposal.
Mr. Alfred Bhaskars resignation was not accepted.
He was asked to continue for one more year and groom
his successor. Mr.
Moses Peram was proposed by Mr. Bhaskar to fill the vacant
position of Vice President and his proposal was accepted
unanimously. We
received the support of additional preachers during this
period. Rev.
Sunil Balasundaram moved to Philadelphia to take charge as
pastor in a local church; however, he continued as a guest
preacher and honorary Pastor of UECF.
There
were no revival meetings or Musical Concert due to tight
budget. However,
we invited several distinguished Ministers from India, like
Bro. Shanthavardhan
and Rev. Dr. Kishore Masilamani to name a few.
Rev. Milind Sojwal, Rev. Joseph Thomas, Rev. Solomon
Tiwade, Rev. Charles Mark and Christopher Salina continued to
bring the word of God in their powerful and inspiring messages
during the regular worship services.
The Young Couples Group enacted a lent season passion
Play on the Palm Sunday.
The Thanks giving and Christmas services were
celebrated. The
home Bible Study group meetings and Lenten meetings were held
as in the previous year.
The Bible Study was regularly scheduled for the second
Friday of each month.
During
the year, Mr. Moses Peram resigned for personal reasons due to
relocation to North Jersey.
Mr. Kanthi Paul also resigned for personal reasons
during the year.

Mr. Ebenezer Mallepalle resigned the presidentship and
Mr. Ajay was nominated by the board of trustees to assume the
role of the President until the end of the term.
During
the year, the UECF was able to secure a place of worship in
Edison, thanks to the efforts of Johnsanjay, the youth leader.
This place located at the Church of Nazarene at 70
Jefferson Blvd. is a central location with excellent
facilities. The
UECF is grateful to the Pastor Rev. Tom Sanders, the church
council members, and the congregation who graciously provided
UECF the privilege of using their church and facilities.
The shift to the Edison location proved to be very
popular. The
membership increased, and so did our receipts.
The UECF supported revival meetings hosted by the
Church of Nazarene in which Bro.
Joshua Daniel was the guest speaker.
The year saw a new pastor supporting our worship
service programs. Rev.
Steve Nash became a regular pastor bringing the word of God on
the first Sundays of the month with Rev Sunil Balasundaram
taking charge of the second and third Sundays and Pastor David
Ravinder in charge of the communion Sunday.

5th Year Review

The fourth
Annual General Body meeting was held in September 2001.
During this meeting, some amendments clarifying the
definition of the word term of incumbency were approved.
The adhoc arrangement of Mr. Ajay holding the
presidentship was terminated, and the general Body unanimously
elected Mr. Ajay as a regular President.
Mr. Syam Pilli was elected as the new Vice President.
The UECF felt the need for a regular pastor who would
nurture and help in the growth of the congregation as a
church. A search
Committee was formed with Mr. Alfred Bhaskar, Mr.Ajit Lakra,
Mr. Reggie Rao, Mrs. Susan Bushi and Mr. Syam Pilli as
members to examine the feasibility of sponsoring Rev. Emmanuel
from India for a 2 year period and also to examine
alternatives. A
special General Body meeting was fixed for November 25, 2001
with the main agenda of examining the study report and
updating the Constitution/By-laws by new amendments as
required.

6th & 7th Year Report
|
We
are grateful to an Omnipotent God who continues to
bless! It is because of His Goodness, Grace and Mercy
that this report is submitted on this Annual General
Body meeting.
During
the last general body meeting held on
23rd June 2002
, the then President, Mr. Ajay Damarapu announced to
discontinue his services as President and later sent his
resignation to the Executive Council through mail.
The
UECF board met on
27th October, 2002
to discuss the resignation of the president. Per UECF
constitution, the Board requested the Vice-President to
resume the responsibilities of the President. After a
prayerful consideration, I accepted to be the
Acting-President until the General Body elects next
President.
By
the grace of Almighty and with the cooperation of the
board members, elders and the congregation, we were able
to perform various activities to glorify God during this
year. It’s my pleasure to give a brief account of
activities and accomplishments.
Firstly,
in order to bring more people to UECF, flyers were made
and invitations were sent inviting the community to
participate in Thanksgiving and Christmas Services.
Thanksgiving
Service was held on
24th November 2002
and was well attended. Apart from UECF choir, Telugu
Christian Fellowship Choir and Hosanna Singers also
presented special music. The congregation donated items
for auction. Praise God for the receivables on that day.
From
6th December to
22nd December 2002
, Christmas Carolers visited 36 houses. All the families
have graciously welcomed the Carolers and cheerfully
offered their contributions. A total of $2000.00 was
received during the Carol visits. Praise God for guiding
us in the snowy season and protecting us from the winter
chilly winds while caroling. Thank Mr. Louis Dundi for
help in providing the route maps.
We
rejoiced in the Lord by celebrating Christmas on 25th
December in a grand manner. It was a joyful occasion to
see One Hundred and Forty people including children
participating in the Christmas celebration and
glorifying God. The Christmas Service was followed by
Christmas lunch partially sponsored by some of our
members.
With
the encouragement we received from the turn-outs on
Christmas, we wanted to welcome the New Year in God’s
presence with Communion. For the first time in the
five-year history of UECF, we had a Watch Night Service
on New Year eve. 77 people including children gathered
to worship on 31st night.
I
am delighted to inform you that we received a total of
more than six thousand dollars in Thanksgiving, Carol
visiting, Christmas and Watch-Night Services.
Group
Bible studies were conducted on the second Fridays of
every month. Laypersons had a wonderful opportunity to
lead on different Books of Old Testament. Thanks to Mrs.
Udaya Pulipati for her efforts in leading and
coordinating the Bible Study activities.
Sunday
School was conducted regularly to both beginners and
other age groups ( up to 12 years
) during the Service. Appreciate the services of all the
Sunday School teachers for taking pains in nurturing
children in the Lord. Sunday School children along with
the teachers shared their love by visiting homeless
women and kids at
Amandla
Crossing, an organization which homes needy women and
kids.
We
had the opportunity to participate and rejoice in the
combined Easter Sunrise Service at the
United
Methodist
Church
,
Berkely
Heights
. Also, our members have actively participated in Good
Friday Service, Telugu Conference and Annual banquet of
National Association of Asian Indian Christians (NAAIC).
Lenten
Cottage Prayer meetings were held during Lent season (
from
7th March 2003
to
11th April 2003
) at some of
our members’ homes. I thank all the families for
opening their doors. And also
thank those families who have shared their love by
contributing the canned food to Somerset Community food
bank.
I
am pleased to inform you that as part of our missions
support, we have assisted the organizations such as
Project Christ International (PCI) and Kids Club in
Andhra Pradesh
,
India
.
Mothers day
was observed on
11th May 2003
. It was a spectacular event to see 19 mothers being
honored by their sons and daughters. Thank the UECF men
folk for preparing a delicious meal in honor of the
mothers.
Pastor
Sunil Balasundaram had served as one of our honorary
pastors for four and a half years. In appreciation of
his services rendered to us, we bid him a grand farewell
last week. Thank all the members who have generously
contributed towards his gift check of $1400.00.
In
mid December 2002, we were informed by the pastor of the
host church, Rev. Tom Saunders that the facility will
not be available to UECF from beginning of April 2003.
The reason given was the
church
of
Nazarene
wanted to expand the time and usage of the facility for
their growing needs.
The
Board met on 22nd December2002 to discuss the
possibilities at other churches located within 5 mile
radius of the Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Ravinder
suggested the New Dover United Methodist Church (NDUMC)
and the Board unanimously authorized him to talk to the
Pastor of NDUMC. Pastor Ravinder held the initial
discussions with Pastor Bob Costello and later the
Boards of UECF and NDUMC met at NDUMC on 26th
of January 2003.
The
other facilities considered for relocation were the
churches at Metuchen,
Woodbridge
,
Christ
United
Methodist
Church
,
Piscataway
and Edison Wesley church. After a prayerful
consideration, the Board felt that NDUMC will be best
suited to our needs with its strategic location. Pastor
David Ravinder’s efforts in finding this facility and
negotiating for a reasonable rent are highly
appreciated.
Consequently,
we had our first worship service at NDUMC on 2nd
of March 2003. Rev Bob Costello, the Pastor of NDUMC and
Mrs. Tonya Burleigh, the Trustee President of NDUMC
welcomed the UECF congregation. Their kindness and
hospitality were very much acknowledged.
We
do express our profound thanks to our Sr. Hon. Pastor,
Rev. Dr. David Ravinder for his powerful messages on
Communion Sundays and also on various special occasions
like Christmas, Watch Night Service and Cottage Prayer
meetings. I am grateful for his continued guidance.
Our thanks are also due to our Hon. Pastors, Rev.
Sunil Balasundaram and Rev. Steve Nash for their
inspiring messages. Apart
from our designated Pastors, we are blessed to hear the
word of God in our regular worship services from the
guest preachers including Rev. Ananth Kumar, Rev. K.
Azaraiah, Dr. Gurunatham Moodey, Bro. Rajan Matthews,
Bro. S. Samraj and Bro. John Madhukar Bushi. Gospel
Singers like Bro Bhanu Murthy, Mrs Mahitha Charles of
Aradhana Gospel Music Ministries visited us and were
encouraged. Mr. Sushil Bhujbal’s help in providing
music in our regular worship services is greatly
appreciated.
Praise the Lord for Internet presence! Web pages on our website www.uecf.net continue to be informative and current. We receive a positive feedback concerning the web pages constructed and maintained by web-master Mr. Phani Pilli and we are thankful for his efforts. It’s very encouraging for everyone to have a pictorial account of various events on our website. This also serves as a massive public relations campaign. Surfers from all over the world are regularly logging on to our website to hear Gospel music and to go to various useful links provided on the website. Some times, this generates a heavy traffic and we need to see the possibility of increasing the bandwidth.
I thank all the congregation members for hosting the fellowship hour after each worship service. This really helped in bringing cohesion among the members and get to know about our visitors. Our members continued to Praise God for their blessings on their birthdays, anniversaries and baby-showers. We also had a wonderful experience going on a UECF family picnic to Johnson Park in last August and we are looking forward to have another one soon.
Praise the Lord!
Respectfully,
SYAM PILLI

8th & 9th Year Report
|
Greetings
to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
It
has been 9 blessed years since United Evangelical
Christian Fellowship (UECF ) started. I am delighted to
report the progress as we are entering into the 10th
year.
The
last UECF General Body meeting was held on 22nd
February 2004 and the leaders were elected for a 3 year
tenure. The present leaders took charge after their
installation on 7th March, 2004.
As
per UECF constitution, UECF Annual General Body should
be held in the month of January. My sincere apologies
for our inability to hold the Annual General Body
meeting last year due to various activities.
I
praise the Lord for the privilege to serve Him. I thank
Him for watching over us all these years and helping us
in growing both spiritually and in numbers. Last couple
of years have been very fruitful to UECF. More families
have joined UECF and the receipts also increased
progressively. Praise the Lord for His continued
blessings. It has been exactly 3 years since we
relocated to
New
Dover
United
Methodist
Church
,
Edison
. By God’s abundant grace, we are able to worship the
Lord in this sanctuary continuously. Our regular worship
services have been a blessing to many. We are privileged
to hear the word of God through our honorary pastors.
Apart
from our honorary pastors, many servants of God from
India
had ministered to us during the last couple of years.
These ministers from
India
included Rev. Dr. Joseph Kishore (New Life Associates),
Rev. Dr. B. C. Paul (Emmaus ministries), Rev. Daniel
Kalayanapu (Ecclesia Ministries), Rev. Azariah Korabandi,
Rev. Syam Babu (Zion Evangelistic & Care
Ministries), Bro. Harry Gomes (Caramel Ministries), Rev.
Dr. Joshi (Jesus Followers Ministries) and Rev. Sam
Saripalli (Golden Harvest Ministries). Missionaries from
other countries such as Rev. Richard Bailey (Missionary
from
Pakistan
) and Rev. Rafael Flores (Missionary from
Paraguay
) also shared us the Word along with the updates about
their ministry. Locally, Rev. Darryl Duer, Bro. Rajan
Mathews, Rev. Santosh Thadigiri, Rev. Navin Satyavrata
and Bro. Kris Samudrala served us as guest preachers.
Special music was provided by the visiting Indian
Gospel singers like John Bilmoria Rapaka and Mrs &
Mr John Charles Pilli.
As
the Psalmist asked for revival, we had been seeking for
God’s revival for a long time. I am extremely happy
and praise the Lord for the much awaited 3-Day Revival
meetings that were held from 28th October
2005 to 30th October 2005. A series of
powerful messages were delivered by the faithful servant
of God, Rev. Naveen Balakrishnan.
This series included the inspiring topics such as
Salvation, Supplication, Sanctification, Scripture and
Sharing. Many of our fellow Christians from the
neighboring areas attended the meetings and were
spiritually benefited by the messages. The impact of the
meetings is such that some of the attendees were
inspired and started reading the Bible regularly 4
chapters-a day as suggested by Rev. Naveen Balakrishnan.
I praise the Lord for this tremendous impact!
Apart
from our regular Sunday worship services, we had special
programs on Christmas, New Year Eve (Watch Night
Service), Palm Sunday, Thanksgiving, Mothers Day and
Fathers Day. As we do every year, Lenten Cottage prayer
meetings were held for six weeks and we are looking
forward to start the same for this year from next week
onwards. UECF joined the
Community
United
Methodist
Church
in
Roselle
Park
for a combined Easter morning service on 27th
March, 2005. UECF actively participated in Good Friday
Meditation service, Christian Family conference, NAAIC
Annual Banquet and NJIC special service on their tenth
Anniversary.
As per the UECF Constitution, ten percent of the gross
revenues should be designated towards the Missions fund.
As part of the missions activities, we supported Rev.
Stephen Nash’s mission trip to
India
. We are happy to be part of the various activities
organized through Rev. Azariah’s ministry in
India. UECF also supported the ministries in India such as
Carmel Prayer Tower, Good News Messengers, Golden
Harvest Ministries, Lutheran Revival Forum, St. Paul’
Lutheran Church. We also supported the needy through
UMCOR and RZIM’s Wellspring ministry.
I
appreciate the Missions Coordinator, Mr. Ajit Lakra for
his eagerness in helping out the poor and needy. We hope
and pray that our support will bring light in the lives
of many poor and unreachable.
As
you know, the end of the year 2004 witnessed a most
tragic disaster. Exactly fourteen months ago, on
December 26, 2004, the Indian Ocean Tsunami devastated
several countries including
India
and
Sri Lanka
. UECF raised to the situation and contributed towards
the relief efforts through Hindustan Bible Institute (
HBI ) and Rev. Joe Thomas’ ministry in
Sri Lanka
. I thank all the members for your generosity and
prayerful support.
Praising
the Lord with Songs and Hymns has always been the
important part of our Sunday Worship Service. We sang
praises in different regional languages in bringing
glory to His name. The choir practices really helped us
in bringing out good music on special occasions. I thank
our Music Coordinator, Mr. Sushil Bhujabal for his never
tiring services. I hope and pray that we will continue
to glorify the Lord using further more musical
instruments.
Proverbs
22:6 states -Train up the child in the way he should go,
when he is old he will not depart from it. Following
this, UECF children are getting inculcated with Biblical
teachings from the very childhood. Sunday School
children of different age groups exhibited their talents
on all possible special occasions. Thanks to Mr. Louis
Dundi, Sunday School Coordinator and the teaching staff
for their efforts in nurturing the children.
Bible
Study was held in NDUMC premises on second Friday of
every month except during Lent and Christmas seasons.
Thanks to Mrs. Susan Bushi for conducting Bible Study on
regular basis. I pray for God’s wisdom in
understanding His word and for His guidance in applying
the word in our lives.
Many
guests have visited us and worshipped with us during
regular Sunday worship and other Special services. Mr.
Thomas Kalyanapu as Stewardship Coordinator has helped
to reach out the visitors and ensured they signed the
Guest Book with their addresses. Appreciate his efforts
in helping to procure the filled in member data forms.
This helped us in updating the database with Birthdays
and Anniversaries.
It
was a great joy to participate in Carol rounds during
the Christmas season. This year, we had visited 36
families as part of our carol rounds and received
maximum contributions so far. Thank Mr. Clement Myla for
his help in coordinating the Carol rounds. Thanks to all
the families for opening the doors and all those members
and the children for their active participation.
UECF
Annual Family picnics are generally filled with lots of
fun, plenty of food along with the spiritual food. Last
year we had a great fun time at
Colonial
Park
. Saturday, the 30th July, 2005 had a perfect
weather and all the members including children have
taken an active part in playing variety of games and
number of new activities.
We
were privileged to have an opportunity to take part in
the secular event of India Independence day parade which
was held for the first time on
Oak Tree Road
on 14th August, 2005. It was a great
experience to hold the UECF banner and marching on
Oak Tree Road
along with Tricolor flags. This certainly helped us in
getting some mileage in letting our presence known in
the neighborhood.
UECF
Members have always volunteered to host Fellowship
Coffee hour after each Sunday service while celebrating
their Birthdays or anniversaries. Special programs like
Baby showers were also celebrated. I thank Mrs. Padma
Borugadda, Women’s fellowship coordinator and the
women’s fellowship for their help in successfully
organizing the Fellowship Coffee hours.
The
Married Couple’s meeting usually held on the 4th
Saturday of every month in various homes that are
pre-decided. Couples discussed and debated on various
topics that are very practical and tried to use the
Bible as a guiding tool. Thanks to Rev. Dr. David
Ravinder & Mrs .Sarita Ravinder for leading this
ministry. Thanks to Mr. Kanthi Paul Rapaka for
coordinating.
Web
site has been instrumental for the growth of UECF. Many
have visited us by knowing our presence through the web
site. Members and others are able to get the updates on
Fellowship’s activities which are being regularly
posted on web. The web site has facilitated in making
UECF well known all over the world. Website’s Guest
Book indicates the popularity as people from many parts
of the world sign the Guest Book and witness how the
site has been blessing to them. This site has become a
home page for many and all are blessed by the collection
of songs. I take this opportunity to thank Mr. Phani
Pilli for sponsoring the website, maintaining and
updating it periodically for the benefit of the
Fellowship and also to others.
As
the journey of UECF continues, I hope and pray that the
10th year may be a remarkable year for UECF
and bring much more glory to His matchless name. I would
request all of your whole hearted support in carrying
out what God has asked us to do. More focus is needed on
our youth activities. We need to work towards procuring
a building of our own for Worship. We need to reach out
the people with good news of Christ, probably in the
neighboring areas. Much more work needs to be done in
helping the un-reached through missions support. At this
time, I request all the members to maintain the
discipline by coming to service on time. As Christ’s
body, it’s our responsibility to follow the principles
in achieving the goals and objectives laid out in the
UECF Constitution.
I
would like to thank the Executive officers, Board of
Trustees, Pastorate Committee and all the congregation

10th Year Report
|
Praise
the Lord for one more year of the Lord's choicest
blessings upon this Fellowship!
I
deem it a great privilege to present this annual report
as UECF completes 10 years of Service. Over the past
decade, by the grace of Almighty, UECF has a grown
considerably. I
am blessed to serve Him as an Acting President for
almost 2 years and as a President for the last 3 years.
God has protected me and my family all these years
whether I was away in
Wisconsin
or traveled to
Philadelphia
for my job. Praise the Lord for His wonderful mercies!
I
am glad to state that most of the goals and objectives
listed in the UECF Constitution have been met during the
last several years. In the last five years, as you may
have noticed, by the Lord’s abundant grace, UECF
revenues have increased three fold.
We
continued the last year events with the inspiration
gained from Revival meetings by Rev. Naveen Balakrishnan
held in the year 2005. These 3-Day meetings had a
tremendous impact on many people. Sadly at the same
time, the satan also started to disturb the unity among
the congregation, but God has sustained us from all the
troubles.
Apart
from the regular Sunday worship Services, we have had
many special programs. We tried our best to make the
worship services energetic and dynamic. In addition to
the procurement of Public Address System, special
instruments like Drums, Guitar, Key-Board, Karaoke CD
Player, Tambourines, OHP Projector, Worship songs DVDs
and other instruments were received as donations over a
period of time. Time for joys and concerns during Sunday
services gave us the opportunity to update the
congregation on the news and needs of our friends,
families and members.
We
had a great joy in celebrating special occasions on
Christmas, New Year Eve (Watch Night Service), Palm
Sunday, Thanksgiving, Mothers Day and Fathers Day. On
the scheduled Sundays, Sr. Honorary Pastor Rev. Dr.
David Ravinder and Honorary Pastor Rev. David Davis have
shared the God’s word and spiritually encouraged us
all through the year. We are also blessed to hear the
Word of God through many of the guest preachers from
India
and around
New Jersey
. The guest preachers for the year 2006 included the
following eminent servants of God:Rev. John Paul
Reddypogu, Rev. Devasahayam Dandala, Rev. Azariah
Korabandi, Rev. Dr. A. B. Joseph Kishore, Rev. Dr. N.
Krupa Rao, Dr. Oomen A. Koshy, Rev. Eli Miranda, Rev.
Darryl Duer, Rev. Anna Bhujbal, Bro. Kumar Das Villuri,
Rev. Dr. K. Jayawanth Samuel and Rev. Manoj Bhatt.
Last
June, we had witnessed a large gathering at UECF through
special Gospel meeting by Bro. Anil Kumar. When we
invited Bro. Anil Kumar for special meetings, my only
prayer to God was to enable at least one person to come
to the Lord Jesus. Thank God for the answered prayer!
Praise the Lord for the new addition to UECF family and
for their powerful testimony!! It was such a glorious
event that for the first time this sanctuary was filled
with people from not only
New Jersey
but also from neighboring states.
We
had a joyful Christmas 2006 as many families and friends
not only from
USA
but also from
Canada
and
India
joined us in Worship. This was the largest gathering
UECF ever had for Christmas, having 250 people in
attendance.
Praise
Time has been a vital part of our Sunday Worship
Services. We had the opportunity to sing praises not
only English but also in the regional languages like
Telugu and Hindi. Thanks to the efforts of the Music
Coordinator, Mr. Sushil Bhujabal. Also thanks to the
Praise Team and to Mr Peter Kollory, MR. Samuel Chilaka,
Master Philip Moodey, Mr.Junia Moses and Mr. Sunil
Robert for providing music support.
Our
special meditation programs included the Cottage Prayer
meetings during the 6 weeks of Lenten season. We had the
opportunity to join the
Community
United
Methodist
Church
in
Roselle
Park
for a combined Easter morning service. In order to
fulfill the Constitutional Objective – ‘To
participate in the activities of similar
congregations’, UECF represented the Good Friday
Meditation service at Rahway, Christian Family
conference, NAAIC Annual Banquet, UTCF special programs
etc.
I
would like to bring to the notice of the General Body
that although the UECF Constitution specifies that 10%
of the gross revenues should be designated towards the
Missions fund, this has not been implemented because of
the difference of opinion among the members of the
Board.
One
hand the Pastorate Committee has recommended
disbursement of Missions fund (10% of the gross
revenues) retrospectively, the other hand, the Board
chose to give only 5%; and that too from the future year
budget! The General Body may want to correct this
prayerfully at a later time.
However,
we were able to support the following Ministries in
India
:
Golden
Harvest Ministries (Rev. Sam Saripalli)
Good
News Messengers (Rev. Dr. Santhavardhan)
Savior’s
Heartbeat Ministries (Rev. Devasahayam Dandala)
Neu
Life Associates (Rev. Dr. Joseph Kishore)
Emmaus
Ministries (Rev. Dr. B. C. Paul)
Shalom
Christian
Ministries
(Rev. R. Vasanth Peter)
Hebron
Pentecostal
Church (Rev. N. Vivekananda)
Rev.
Azariah Korabandi
Sunday
School: Sunday
School children of different age groups exhibited their
talents on all possible special occasions. Thanks to Mr.
Louis Dundi, Sunday School Coordinator and the Sunday
School teaching staff for conducting one day retreat,
staging dramas and group dances. Thanks for their
efforts in nurturing the children with the Word of God.
Bible Study: UECF monthly Bible Study has been a blessing to many of the members. Thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Susan Bushi and for her dedication in coordinating and conducting Bible Study.
As we do every year, we participated in Carol rounds during the Christmas season. In the year 2006, we had visited 36 families as part of our carol rounds and received your prayerful gifts. Thanks to Mr. Clement Myla for his help in coordinating the Carol rounds.
Last year, we had an Annual Family picnic at Colonial Park . Mr. Ebenezer Mallepalle shared the word of God during our picnic time. Many families have actively participated in various items of the picnic.
Web
site: I can only report that God has richly blessed this Fellowship through the web site ( www.uecf.net ). The presence of UECF is known all over the World through this web site. Many visitors have attended our worship services and testified that they came to know about UECF through the Web site. Some such visitors started attending regularly. Praise the Lord for this wonderful tool and the never tiring efforts of Joshua ( Phani ) Pilli ! This effort has been a blessing to many and obviously received high appreciation from all quarters. Thanks to Joshua Pilli’s for his labor in sponsoring, maintaining and updating the web site periodically for the benefit of not only to UECF but also to others.
Fellowship
Hour: Constitution specifies in the goals & objectives that the Fellowship Hour is needed to bring the cohesion among the members. Many of our members have volunteered to host Fellowship Coffee hour after each Sunday service while celebrating their Birthdays and anniversaries. Special programs like Baby showers were also taken place.
One area where the improvement required is all the members coming to service on time. At this juncture, I would like to appreciate Mr. Vinod Nakka & family for their promptness and also their help rendered in arranging the Communion elements on Communion Sundays.
I thank the Executive officers, Board of Trustees and Pastorate Committee, Coordinators and all the members for their help. I express my thanks to our Pastors Rev. Dr. David Ravinder and Rev. David Davis for ministering to us. Thanks to the NDUMC board of trustees and Pastor Darryl Duer for their continued support.
Lastly, I take this opportunity to thank my wife Saritha and daughters Hannah & Tryphena for their support, cooperation and sacrifices which enabled me to perform my duties in serving Him. I request your continued prayers as we are moving to Virginia .
